Splatbird · Privacy policy
Your game data stays on your phone.
Scores, progress and settings stay in the app's storage. There is no account, advertising or tracking. RevenueCat receives limited purchase information linked to a random app user ID so purchases can be validated and restored, and so we can see aggregate purchase performance.
Who we are
Splatbird is published by Studea Limited, a private company registered in England and Wales, company number 17228961. For any privacy question, write to hello@studea.co.uk.
What leaves the app
- Random purchase reference
- RevenueCat creates a random App User ID. We do not connect it to a name, email address, account or advertising identifier.
- Purchase history
- Purchase and entitlement status for the Splat Legend Pack, including purchase and restore events.
- Purpose
- Validating purchases, restoring access, preventing purchase fraud and understanding aggregate purchase performance.
RevenueCat is the only third-party SDK used for this processing. Automatic device identifier collection and RevenueCat diagnostics are disabled. Splatbird has no account, advertising, advertising identifier, location collection or cross-app tracking. We do not sell personal data.
What stays on your device
- Scores and records
- Your best runs and the three initials you sign them with. Stored on the device, visible only in the app.
- Progress
- Lifetime splat count and which birds and splat styles you have unlocked.
- Settings
- Volume, haptics, handedness and reduced motion.
- Run and app events
- Local records used to understand a run or troubleshoot the app. They contain no player identifier and are not uploaded.
You can remove this local data with Erase data in Splatbird's settings or by deleting the app. Apple may include app data in an iPhone or iCloud backup. Backups are controlled through your Apple settings and are not available to us.
Purchases
The Splat Legend Pack is bought through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment, so we and RevenueCat do not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat processes the purchase record linked to the random app user ID on our behalf to validate the receipt, restore access and provide aggregate purchase analytics. Read Apple's privacy policy and RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Why we process purchase information
We process purchase information to perform the purchase you request and restore what you bought. We also rely on our legitimate interests in keeping purchases secure, preventing fraud and understanding aggregate purchase performance. The limited information is not used to advertise to you, profile your gameplay or track you across apps.
Children
Splatbird is rated 9+ on the App Store and may be played by children. Everyone receives the same high-privacy experience: no account, chat, user-generated content, advertising, location collection, gameplay profiling or cross-app tracking. We do not ask for a child's age because no feature needs it. The only purchase is a cosmetic pack. A parent or guardian can control purchases using Ask to Buy or iOS Screen Time.
Service provider, retention and transfers
Studea Limited is the controller for the limited purchase information described above. RevenueCat, Inc. processes it for us in the United States and may use listed sub-processors in other countries. RevenueCat's data-processing terms include safeguards for UK international transfers. Its terms retain this information while our RevenueCat agreement is active, subject to deletion, backup and legal-retention provisions when that agreement ends.
Your rights
UK data-protection law gives you rights over your personal data, including rights that may let you access, correct or erase it, restrict or object to processing, or receive a copy. These rights depend on the circumstances. Email hello@studea.co.uk and tell us you are contacting us about Splatbird. We may need purchase information from your Apple receipt to locate an RevenueCat record linked to the random app user ID. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
This website
studea.co.uk itself uses analytics, which is a separate matter from the app and is covered by our site privacy notice.
